As of Thursday, October 16th at 8:30 am, ONLY DOE schools on the island of Hawaii have been closed for tomorrow, October 17th and DOE and Charter Schools on Oahu will have school. I will continue to communicate with you all through School Reach, should this change and/or the Governor declare a state of emergency on Oahu. The storm is predicted to impact Oahu over the weekend and into Monday, October 20th. You will be notified via School Reach by no later than 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 19th, should we need to close school on Monday, October 20th.
We encourage all of you to make the necessary preparations for the potential impact on Oahu and should you need shelter, the following locations are designated shelter areas on the island:

Nanakuli High School/Middle, 89-980 Nanakuli Avenue, Waianae, PET FRIENDLY; and
